Random Asshat Cuts Open Slip Angel's Convertible Top, Steals $100 Stereo

My sunroof surprise. The guy did everything through this hole.

It looks like someone from the Taco Bell crew paid me a visit late last night. They took my $100 JVC stereo after doing $1000+ worth of damage to my MR-S to break in. They went through my glove box and popped the engine lid, probably looking for speakers.

They were kind enough not to cut any of the stereo wires, and they even unplugged my MP3 player cable and left it on the ground by my car. Orange County got a smudgy handprint with "latents" on three fingers, which I guess is a good thing.

GEICO says that I'm not covered, because I didn't get a vehicle inspection a fucking year ago. They didn't think it would be a big deal to change my coverage without my consent. I doubt this is worth any lawyer's time, but that won't keep me from trying.

This happened less than a week after an altercation with our downstairs neighbor, where he threatened Tina if she reported his 11pm weeknight house parties to the complex office again. "If I get another letter from them, I'm gonna be mad at you, and I don't want to do that," he said. Hopefully Highpoint Club Apartments in Orlando will evict him now.

I patched up the top as best I can. I am going to take it to a shop on Tuesday to get an estimate for another soft top. I think it will set me back between $800 and $1100 dollars, which is half the cost of a Carbon Fiber hard top. Tina and I are already looking at properties in the event that the guy downstairs is not evicted (obviously, we will press charges if the fingerprints come back as his).

I'll be sure to rent property with a garage, or at least a gate next time.
